One of our last inspections of 2023 was in Aldeburgh in Suffolk.  A rather unusual Victorian three storey townhouse with a flat roof.  Soft Suffolk red bricks were used in the construction, as if often the case with properties in this area.  However, the exposure to weather and the salt content from the sea can erode the brickwork, which is why so many are rendered. Dampness is often an issue and this is something we specifically look for using damp meters and thermal image cameras.  The flat roof was inspected with camera poles.
